Confessions of a Snow Queen by MattesWorks Confessions of a Snow Queen by MattesWorks
I wanted to do another Elsa piece once I saw the movie and got to know her character more. My first piece was just for fun.
This piece is much more serious and full of emotion. I wanted to create a scene of my own that still felt like the movie. I wanted to show a moment for Elsa in the early part of coronation day where she felt overcome with sadness and regret. Regret in all the time that she didn’t get to spend with her sister. Thinking of all the fun they could’ve had together, and how much she really wanted to “build a snowman.” I also softly put the ship representing her parents; another aspect of family that she missed out on growing up.
I wanted to show this torn feeling between hiding her powers and just “letting them go.” I wanted to show her powers as well as her memories and remorse. So I combined the two. As far as the background, I HAD to use a door to reference the cutest scene from the film.
I also revamped and accessorized her gown a little. I did more of a Snow Flake pattern on the chest part rather than the floral print, but I wanted it to still look and feel like her dress.

Very good job!;) (Wink) Yeah perhaps she was doing that all the time in her room cause Elsa knows she was missing Anna like Anna was missing Elsa all that time. No, I disagree!

Great concept- really love this idea. It's quite unique how you've depicted her memories in snow.

Anna: What did I ever do to you? Why do you shut me out?

You certainly a lot of time into this. This is an extremely detailed and very emotional picture. It showcases Elsa's powers as well as her sadness. It's actually making me tear up a little. I want to give Elsa a hug and tell her that everything will be fine. I'm adding this to my favorites.

How long did it take you to make this?

This is simply beautiful and touching. I really like the lighting effect on the snow. It was as if they had their own light.

Sure did! I like to work on many pieces at once. That was I can go back and forth without getting board working on the same one for too long.
THANKS!

A very powerful window into Elsa's tortured heart. Thankfully, this is only part of the story, as ultimately Her Majesty is finally able to let it go once and for all through the greater powers of forgiveness and unconditional love.

With her abilities, Elsa is far and away the most powerful Disney Princess (Queen) ever created. But she may also be the most human. Everyone who loves "Frozen" can relate to some aspect of Elsa's struggles and regrets. It was a brilliant move to recast Elsa as a good Snow Queen rather than an evil one, a frightened little girl in the body of a seemingly cold and stern young woman who just want to be loved. I cried like a baby when she finally thawed out the kingdom through the power of love.

Poor Elsa, was it really necessary for her to live in fear because of her powers growing? That's so unfair for her.

Well done!  There is a scene where she walks in on the party and is announced as Queen Elsa of Arendelle, and This could be fitted just before that one, when she leaves her room after "freshening up".
